Bereavement, Maternity, and Paternity Leave Policies

Beginning October 1, 2024, our Bereavement, Maternity, and Paternity Leave Policies will be changed.


The HR team has carefully considered these changes to align with industry best practices and to provide you with more flexibility and support during critical times.

 

Bereavement Policy Key changes include:

- Extension of benefits to all full-time, active employees to ensure comprehensive coverage during times of need.

- Up to 5 consecutive days of paid leave for the death of a spouse, domestic partner, child, parent, brother, sister, and parental guardian.

-  Up to 2 days of paid leave for the death of other relatives.

- Up to 4 hours of bereavement leave to attend a fellow employee's or retiree's funeral.

- Paid bereavement leave will not be considered in overtime calculations.

- Clear guidelines for applying for paid Bereavement Leave will be forthcoming.

 

Maternity Leave Policy:

- Extension to all full-time, active employees with a set tenure.

- Eligible employees will receive up to 6 Weeks of paid maternal leave per birth, adoption, or child placement, compensated at 100% of their regular pay.

- Option to elect Short-Term Disability without affecting the Maternity pay leave.

- Clear provisions for continuous leave and forfeiture of unused leave at the end of the 6 weeks or upon termination.

 

Paternity (Spouse/Domestic Partner)Leave Policy:

- Extension to all full-time, active employees with a set tenure.

- Eligible employees will receive up to 3 Weeks of paid paternity leave per birth, adoption, or child placement, compensated at 100% of their regular pay.

- Detailed guidelines for continuous leave, forfeiture of unused leave, and termination scenarios.
